At Akoonah Angling your guides will do everything in their power to find you fish, fishing every section of productive water in the set time andtrying different lure techniques. This charter by private bookings only is designed for the intermediate or experienced angler. They will also accommodate private group bookings.

They have access to several local coastal river/estuary systems and will offer to take you to where the bite is happening. This is a unique aspect which no other charter offers in the region.

They use quality Shimano threadline and baitcaster reels, custom rods and an array of lures including hard body and soft plastic lures. You can also attempt live baiting, fly fishing and mud crabbing techniques.

Targeted species include barramundi, mangrove jack, queenfish, trevally and cod species to name a few.

Their two vessels, Stessl & Quintrex boats, offer flexiblity which accommodate different fishing scenarios and come with electric motors, live bait tanks and all the bells and whistles you'd expect on a tournament vessel.

Impoundment Fishing - Lake Tinaroo

If you can afford the time to spend two days at a minimum, Akoonah Angling have special overnight packages available at this famous FNQ stretch of water which holds world record barramundi.

You will be transported and guided to fish during fishing prime times and also be accommodated in absolute comfort.

Lake Tinaroo is approx. 2hrs travel over the coastal range and is situated amongst the beautiful countryside of the Tablelands.

50lb plus barra are it's trademark and are very common during our warmer months of September - February.
